Ikeda Tobacco (池田たばこ店) is a hand-rolling tobacco specialist on the Sawara Kaidō in Fukuoka's Sawara ward — a family-run tobacconist that, by its own account, has been in business for around 110 years. Despite sitting well outside the city centre, it carries a genuinely wide rolling-tobacco selection for most tastes, plus the rolling papers and filters to go with it; rolling tobacco is actually a fairly recent addition here, sold at the shop only since 2026.
The cigarette wall runs from everyday brands — Mevius, Camel, Peace, Hi-Lite — to harder-to-find items: Black Jack's Supa Sawa flavour line, L.A., Joker, and a Seven Stars variant not normally stocked by convenience stores.
The shop sells over the counter during opening hours and also runs two on-site cigarette vending machines; from April 2026 those machines check a buyer's age by scanning a My Number Card or driver's licence rather than a Taspo card. There's no confirmed indoor smoking room, but an outdoor ashtray sits just outside the storefront next to the drink machine, and the shop has its own parking — useful given its position on the way toward Mitose, a popular scenic drive out of the city.
