The theatre’s street corner is open to everyone
The two handiest spots here belong to Rohm Theatre Kyoto. The outdoor corner on Reisen-dori is signed for theatre audiences, but the operator states that anyone may use it, and it stays open around the clock — no ticket to anything required.
Kyoto smoking rules
Smoking outside designated zones in Kyoto’s Enhanced Street Smoking Prevention Areas carries an on-the-spot fine of 1,000 JPY. Smoking while walking or cycling is banned across the city, and carrying a portable ashtray does not exempt you.
